What is a non-newtonian fluid?

 

 

A strange blend between cornflower and water can act like a liquid but also as a solid! 

Confused? Let us explain: non-newtonian fluids are liquids that have different characteristics from the newtonian ones, which means that - like quicksand – they have a viscosity that changes according to the pressure applied to the matter.

This means that if you apply any pressure onto the fluid, it will feel as hard as a rock but, without any pressure it will flow like water!
